Great Day of Sports

The Bison are once again FCS champions and tonight the Vikings will be bringing the Packer's season to an end. It was bittersweet last weekend when Adrian Peterson came up a little short of the all-time single season rushing record, but nevertheless it has been a pretty good end to my Christmas break. It's a great day to be a sports fan.

  1. Glad the Bison won, but it was nice seeing the Packers play like their usual championship selves. Glad you're back blogging!

  2. Thanks, I've been meaning to get in contact with you. I think I have saved enough money for my mac! Where would you recommend buying it from? Is there an ideal place to get one? So far I've been thinking either ordering it online from Apple or buying it from the NDSU bookstore (which is an authorized retailer of Apple computers).

  3. I've purchased almost all of my Mac stuff from Apple directly. The nice thing about that is that you can customize what you want (add more memory or a solid state hard drive or a large hard drive and so on). I did that with my MacBook, and I'm so glad that I did. Maybe the NDSU bookstore will allow you to do that too (or maybe you just want the standard version they have on stock). But for my money, I am so pleased with the apple on line store and all of the support and care that I've gotten.

No lie - a few years ago my hard drive went out. (Luckily, I have a Western Digital external hard drive where I use apple's Time Machine to back up my computer). I just about ordered a new one that night figuring all was lost. But my wife convinced me to go ahead and call apple and see if there was anything they could do.

Turns out, there was actually an extended warranty put out on my hard drive. Everything was covered! I just had to take it to the nearest apple retailer (which at that time was in GF, but now I think it's in Fargo). They ordered my hard drive. Apple actually sent a larger HD than the one I had and they installed it all for free.

Then when I picked it up, I hooked it up to my external HD and within a few hours I had the same exact screen up with all the windows open too that I had had when it crashed.

With support like that, I'm devoted for life!
